Italjet's recent history is made of creativity and innovation and is connected to a past rich of anectodes and successes always bordering between design and technology: a mix of eclecticism and real unique rigour that in the time has brought to prestigious international recognitions. On 14th February 1980 there is the recognition that by itself is worth a career: the design sector of the Museum of Modern Art of New York, the prestigious MOMA, communicates Mr. Tartarini the decision to exhibit the Pack 2 in its permanent collection. It is the unique two-wheel motor vehicle housed in the museum. Again: in 1998 the Guggenheim Museum of New York selected some models of motorcycles and scooters and the only scooter exhibited and awarded a prize was the liquid-cooled Formula 50, already appointed four times scooter of the year ( in Germany, Spain and twice in Italy). In 2000 it is the time of Velocifero. “For the Americans, that familiarly call it – Velo – it has been a stroke of lightning at first sight. Landed in the States in 1996 ,Velocifero has covered all the stages of success, dwelling on all the most important magazines and ending even, in a good showing at the Guggenheim Museum of New York. A success that seems unrestrainable. At least by judging the results of the best objects of the year, drawn up by the weekly Business Week, on which its sweetly old-style lines and its pastel colors take up two whole pages” (Taken from the”Corriere della Sera” of 11th December 2000).
